WTP RULES AND REGULATIONS ACT

SECTION I

Participation

  • General Manager ("GM") participation is mandatory on a regular basis. A GM must actively pursue methods to make their organization better.

  • A member of the league office (“Commissioner”) has the authority and discretion to fire a GM for failure to comply with section (1).

  • You cannot control the outcome of your teams lines directly. Anytime an injury occurs or you make a trade your lines will be set to “Best Lines”.

  • Private messages via the forum (“PMs”) must be replied to within 24 hours during the regular and post season.

  • Failure to comply with PM replies may result in a fine, multiple infractions may lead to termination.

  • A GM’s presence on CHAT at least twice per week is encouraged but not mandatory; however, a Commissioner has the authority and discretion to replace a GM who is not active on CHAT.

  • If a GM will be temporarily absent from the WTP and unable to comply with sections (1) through (4), the GM must advise the league via the "GM Away" thread on the forum.

  • A Commissioner has authority and discretion to fire a GM who vanishes without notice.

SECTION II

Rosters and Contracts

  • WTP NHL rosters must not exceed 25 players and at all times comprise of at least 12 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders.

  • You must have at least 10 AHL players under contract but no more the 25. Not all players playing on your AHL affiliate in game will have a contract with your NHL club and will not show up on your roster page or be able to be called up if injury occurs.

  • UFA’s are players aged 29+ any player aged 28 and under is considered a RFA

(a) After every season is completed the Free agent period will begin.

(b) Playoff teams are allowed 3 locks only 1 can be a UFA, non playoff teams get 4 locks only 2 can be UFA, Stanley cup winner also gets 4 locks and can be any status. (Locked players can not be chosen to go to the open market) RFA status has a much less chance of being selected off your team to hit the market but can still happen, make your lock selections wisely, and be prepaired to lose any player not locked.

  • AHL – These players are there for injury call ups. If the player is rated less then 78 and or under the age of 25 they can be called up and sent down without being claimed. If a player is 25 and older the will always go through waivers if called up, however these players can still be used to fill in for injuries and just not be "officially" called up

  • A GM may request a position change, or the addition of a position, for any player by posting the request on the Player Position Change Request thread.

(a) The request must be accompanied by a link from either NHL.com, or TSN.ca indicating a player plays the position detailed in the request.

  • Free agents not signed in the free agent draft are open for selection at any time through out the season on a 1st come 1st serve basis. If to teams put in a claim on the same player over the 24hr period the player signs with the team lower in the standings. (same rule applies to any waiver claims)

  • If a player retires from professional hockey in real life he will also be retired from our league once the current season is over.

(b) A player that signs in Europe will also be retired from WTP when his current contract expires but his “rights” will remain with the team in current possession giving that team 1st crack at signing that player if or when they return to the NHL

  • GMs are prohibited from signing UFAs once the trade deadline has passed.

SECTION III

Transactions and Trades

  • A GM may waive any player from their own organization any time.

(a) A GM will have 24 hours from the time a player has been waived to claim a waived player. If you waive a player from 1 of your teams you are able just like everyone else to claim that player with your other team, however priority is given to other teams regardless of where your other team is in the standings.

(b) A GM is prohibited from trading a player who is on waivers.

(c) A player acquired via waivers is automatically placed on the claiming GM’s NHL roster. (e) There are no re-entry waivers.

  • Waiver priority for the period beginning the day after the NHL Stanley Cup is won, priority will be given to the worst team in to the best team (by points) based on the results from the season immediately preceding this period.

(a) The team lowest in the standings by points will have waiver priority for the period beginning of the following season the end of the current seasons 1st sim at which point priority will always be based on the lowest team in the standings at that time till the Stanley cup has been won.

(b) A team with a successful claim never moves to the bottom of the waiver list; priority is always based on standings.

  • A player who is 24 years of age or less and is 77 overall (“OV”) or less, 80 OV for goalies, does not require waivers to be demoted to the AHL.

  • The WTP trade deadline will be set by a Commissioner and sufficient notice of the deadline will be given to GMs prior to the deadline. Trading is prohibited by all teams from the moment the trade deadline passes until after the WTP Stanley Cup is awarded.

  • Only players rated 65+ are eligible to be signed by GM’s, if a update occurs and a players rating go’s up to 65+ they will be added to that seasons UFA extravaganza regardless of their age. Once signed they will then fall under the RFA or UFA guidelines.
